The police have arrested 12 people at Gordenu near Hohoe in the Volta region for setting a police patrol vehicle on fire.
The vehicle according to the police was involved in an accident with a motorbike rider which enraged some members in the community for the attack.
“Two people lost their lives in the violence and the motor rider who sustained injury during the accident is currently receiving medical attention,” a statement issued by the police Wednesday, August 30, 2023, said in some parts.
The mayhem led to the arrest of 12 persons where one Bruni pistol has also been retrieved.
The police say they have commenced investigations into the matter to ascertain the cause for the loss of lives.
“Security has since been deepened in Hohoe township and its surrounding communities to ensure law and order,” the statement added.
