1. Student Visa (Subclass 500)
Overview: This is the most common student visa and allows you to study full-time at an educational institution in Australia.
Eligibility: Available for students enrolled in courses ranging from English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) to higher education degrees (bachelor’s, master’s, PhD), vocational education and training (VET), and primary or secondary school.
Duration: The visa length is generally the duration of your course plus a short period afterward (e.g., 2 months).
Work Rights: Allows you to work up to 48 hours per fortnight during the academic term and full-time during breaks.
2. Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590)

Eligibility: You must be the student’s parent, legal guardian, or relative, and you must be able to provide for the student’s accommodation, welfare, and other support needs.

Duration: The same as the duration of the exchange program.
Work Rights: You may be able to work part-time during your stay, similar to other Subclass 500 visa holders.
